Parents Association Grants & Scholarships

Parents Association grants and scholarships are funded directly through contributions by parents to the Parents & Families Fund.

Student Scholarships

The Parents Association offers various scholarship programs to benefit students. These scholarships are funded by gifts from parents to the Parents & Families Fund! This year, we are working to simplify the scholarship application process for students of Parents Association members. There are several exclusive scholarship programs available, including the Parents Association Academic Scholarship, the Leadership & Service Scholarship, and the International Scholarship. Each scholarship provides an opportunity for your student to receive funding for unique educational needs at UT or abroad.

How to Apply

Step 1: Complete the Returning Student Scholarship Application (Due February 1, 2015)
Students can access the Returning Student Scholarship Application via MyUTK. This application is used to make funding decisions on numerous students scholarships, so it’s a good idea for your student to fill this out each year!

Step 2: Complete a supplemental application for a specific scholarship (if required).

International scholarship recipients have been able to study abroad in places such as Poland, China, Germany, England, and Uganda just to name a few! Applications for the 2015 International Scholarships are now available via the Programs Abroad Office website. Applications are due Friday, April 17, 2015. Students, click here for more information and to apply.
There is not a second, supplemental application required for the academic scholarship. Funding decisions will be made from data collected on the Returning Student Scholarship Application.
The 2015 Leadership & Service Scholarship application period ended on March 13. The review committee is currently reviewing applications and decisions will be announced soon.

Parents & Families Fund Grant Program

The Office of New Student & Family Programs, along with the Parents Council, coordinates the Parents & Families Fund Grant Program. The Parents Council has recognized the efforts of departments and student organizations within the Division of Student Life, and has championed the effort to re-establish the grant program. Grants provide funding for programs and new initiatives to benefit students.
