Fall Family Weekend Schedule

Below you will find the TENTATIVE Fall Family Weekend schedule. Please check back, as we will provide additional information as it becomes available

Friday, October 3

Football

Family Weekend Check-In & Ticket Pick-up
3:00 - 7:00 PM @ Brown University Center, Rooms 221-224

Parent and Student Seminars
University Center Meeting Rooms

Enjoy learning about current research, student life, and academic information during these interesting educational seminars! Seminar times and topics are being finalized.

Bowling, Billiards, and Table Tennis
5:00 - 9:00 PM @ University Center Down Under

Parents and students can enjoy Family Fun Night in the Down Under Recreation Center. The Down Under is a great place to relax with your family with some casual entertainment including bowling, billiards, table tennis, darts, foosball, video games and more!
Admission is $3 for parents and family members and free for UT students on Friday only. (No pre-registration required)

Women's Volleyball vs. Auburn
7:00 PM @ Thompson Boling Arena

Come watch the UT Lady Vols Volleyball team take on the Lady Tigers in this Southeastern Conference match. While you're enjoying the volleyball match, catch a glimpse of the newly renovated Thompson Boling Arena.
Admission is free with Family Weekend registration.

Women's Soccer vs. LSU
7:00 PM @ Regal Soccer Stadium

Enjoy this Southeastern Conference match-up as the Lady Vols take on the LSU Lady Tigers soccer team!
Admission is free with Family Weekend registration.

Movie Cover

Outdoor Movie Presentation
8:30 PM @ Humanities Amphitheater

Come to the Humanities Amphitheater to enjoy "Get Smart" starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway. This movie will be shown under the stars on the big screen and is brought to you by the UT Film Committee. Click here for more information on the featured film.
Tickets are $2 for non-UT students and $1 for UT students with a valid student ID. Tickets will be on sale "at the door".

Star Gazing
9:00 PM @ Nielson Physics Building

Meet at the money wall at the University Center to be escorted to the observing deck and prepare to spend a night gazing at the stars with your student. Led by the Director of Observing Programs, Outreach & Astronomy at UT, Paul Lewis. The observing begins promptly at 9:00pm from the roof of the Nielsen Physics Building. Admission is free with Family Weekend registration.

Saturday, October 4

Big Orange Tailgate Party
3 Hours Prior to Game Kickoff @ Circle Park

Join other parents, students, and staff members for a tailgate party unlike any other!
Admission is free with Family Weekend registration.

Movie Cover

Vol Walk
2 Hours, 15 Minutes Prior to Game Kickoff @ Volunteer Boulevard & Peyton Manning Pass

The Vol Walk is one of the most prominent traditions of a University of Tennessee game day. The Vol Walk carves a path directly in front of Circle Park and the Big Orange Tailgate Party. You won't want to miss the VOL Walk as the band, cheerleaders, and the football team make their traditional entrance into Neyland Stadium.

Sunday, October 5

UT Gardens

McClung Museum Exhibit: Napoleon in Egypt & Egyptomania in Tennessee

Visit the Sunsphere
Friday – Sunday, 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM in Downtown Knoxville

This structure, built for the 1982 World’s Fair, is a symbol of the city of Knoxville. Visitors are welcome to take in the view from the observation deck.

Visit the UT Gardens
Friday – Sunday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM on the Agricultural Campus

The UT Gardens function as an outdoor laboratory to evaluate the performance and landscape use of every type of plant, from trees and shrubs to annuals and perennials to ornamental grasses and aquatic plants.

Please Note: Due to the nature of processing, planning, and event coordination, the Parents Association is unable to offer refunds to any Family Weekend registrant at any time.

The Parents Association Family Weekend will take place except in the most severe weather conditions. In the event of rain, all activities will take place as scheduled, possibly in alternate locations. However, in the event of severe weather such as lightening, the Parents Association, together with the University of Tennessee may elect to delay or cancel any part of Family Weekend at any time. Due to the nature of event planning and coordination, the Parents Association will not offer any refunds, in full or in part, to any participant due to weather.
