Family Weekend To-Do List: A Quick Reference Checklist
1. Read all information
provided on the Family Weekend website as well
as the information contained in weekly Parents
Association Listserv emails. It is extremely
important that you read and understand all registration
information prior to registering for Family
Weekend. Information is continually
updated and the most up-to-date information
is posted online. Family Weekend registration
begins August 5, 2009.
2. Register your family online
by clicking on the Family Weekend Registration
link. Registration will begin August 5. You will need your Member ID number to sign-in to register for Family Weekend. If you
have questions, or if you would like to confirm your Member ID, please contact our office at
(865) 974-4546 or parents@utk.edu.
For information on football tickets, please
visit the Important Information link. Don't
forget to register for and attend the events
offered on Friday night.
3. If you plan to attend the
UT vs. Ohio football game, purchase your ticket
via one of the methods outlined on the Important
Information link. You may purchase tickets in
the Family Weekend section of Neyland Stadium
by choosing to purchase tickets immediately
after you have registered for Family Weekend.
If you have alternate means of obtaining football
tickets, you will still need to register for
Family Weekend in order to participate in the
event. Please note that current
UT students only have to purchase a ticket to
the football game if you want to reserve a particular
seat for them with you in the Family Weekend
section. Otherwise students will sit in the
student section at Neyland Stadium if they have
purchased student tickets to football games.
4. Make hotel reservations in Knoxville for Family Weekend if you have not already done so. Many partner properties offer hotel discounts during Family Weekend, but others do not offer discounts during home football game weekends. Reference the Travel & Accommodations link for more information on partner hotels.
5. Review the Schedule of Events prior to travelling to
Knoxville for Family Weekend.

emailed a payment receipt. Please bring your
receipt with you to Family Weekend check-in
from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2009
in the University Center, rooms 221-224.
6. Prior to Family Weekend,
read your emailed receipt and review the Family
Weekend website for event times, locations,
and parking information.
7. If you have never attended
a football game at Neyland Stadium, please take
time to review the Neyland Stadium policies
and procedures. Click here
for more information on Neyland Stadium, directions,
and fan services, as well as lists of prohibited
and permissible items at Neyland Stadium.
8. Pick up your Family Weekend
registration packet and football tickets (if
purchased) on Friday, September 25. Family Weekend
check-in will not begin before
3:00 PM due to other events taking place in
the University Center. Please plan travel accordingly.
Parking is available to parents in the University
Center Parking Garage at a reduced rate ($1
each 1/2 hour to a maximum of $5). Bring your
parking stub (obtained as you enter the garage)
to check-in for the a sticker to obtain the
discounted rate. Payment for parking
will need to be made as you exit the Parking
Garage.
9. Enjoy a fun-filled weekend
on campus with your student! Family Weekend check-in will take place Friday, September 25 from 3:00-7:00 PM in the University Center. Don't forget to stop by the silent auction and University of Tennessee Bookstore to take advantage of the Family Weekend discount.
Please Note: Due to the nature of processing, planning, and event coordination, the Parents Association is unable to offer refunds to any Family Weekend registrant at any time.
The Parents Association Family Weekend will take place except in the most severe weather conditions. In the event of rain, all activities will take place as scheduled, possibly in alternate locations. However, in the event of severe weather such as lightening, the Parents Association, together with the University of Tennessee may elect to delay or cancel any part of Family Weekend at any time. Due to the nature of event planning and coordination, the Parents Association will not offer any refunds, in full or in part, to any participant due to weather.
