The Office of New Student & Family Programs provides communications and a valuable connection between families and the University of Tennessee. We hope you will count on us on being informed so you can support your student and be actively involved in his or her academic success. Our office uses various means to provide the right information to parents and families at the right time.

It is important that we have your up-to-date contact information (e-mail and mailing addresses) to ensure you can take advantage of these valuable communications. Contact our office at 865-974-4546 or anytime to update your information.

Webinar Series

All families have access to online webinars featuring campus partners. Information about how to sign up for the webinars can be found in the New Student & Family Progams emails. The platform we are using for the webinars allows 45 participants per session. Thus, it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Following the live webinar, they will be archived online in the resources section of the website.

Check back often as more information will be added as additional webinars are scheduled. There are currently no open webinar registrations.

Timely E-mails

In February, the Parents Association e-mails began going to all UT families. The email provides weekly information with updates on campus events, reminders for deadlines and dates, campus safety information, and information on university activities that affect students and parents. Our office only sends official UT communication by e-mail. We will never send you spam or junk mail.

We keep parents and families up to date on campus and personal safety news through e-mail. If there is a safety advisory or incident on or around campus, we relay that information to you.

If you are not currently receiving the email, please e-mail to update your address and add our address to your Safe Senders list.

Family Fundamentals

Beginning in Summer of 2016, all families of incoming students will be receiving a handbook at orientation containing information on services and resources offered at UT. This will serve as a resource guide for families while at orientation.

Annual Parent Calendar

All Parents Association members receive the annual Parent Calendar outlining the important dates and deadlines affecting students throughout the academic year. Academic and extracurricular information is also included along with tips and hints for each year of your student’s college career. Parents of new students will receive their copy at orientation. Our office mails a copy each year to all other active members.

TENNESSEE Family Magazine

All Parents Association members receive the TENNESSEE Family magazine in the mail twice each year, before the semester begins. TENNESSEE Family features articles on campus safety, upcoming events, student scholarships, academic support resources, and career preparation for your student.

The flagship campus of the University of Tennessee System and partner in the Tennessee Transfer Pathway.
